Rethinking Portable Blending

Portable blending often comes with a significant compromise: the struggle to drink a thick smoothie through a restrictive mouthpiece. With the Nutribullet Flip, we set out to eliminate that friction. The challenge was to design a device that allows users to blend and drink directly through the motorhead without the poor flow rate and vacuum issues common in the category.

Working closely with the engineering team, my colleagues and I developed a unique mouthpiece cover that cams open a large-diameter vent hole as it is opened. This innovation offsets negative pressure to allow for an effortless, natural flow. Combined with a true double-walled stainless steel vessel that keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours and a 11.1V battery that is 50 percent more powerful than most competitors, the Flip provides a high-performing, insulated experience that sits leagues above the standard portable blender.
